Advice: About to buy a cheap Vacuum Cleaner

I’m only here temporarily from Canada so I don’t want to invest heavily in appliances. I posted here a few days ago about borrowing a vacuum cleaner and got some replies about alternatives. One was about 30-euro vacuum cleaners at Darty (but they are out of stock). About those cheap 30-euro vacs… are they any good ?

I’ve bought a cheap one before and it lasted about 6 weeks! False economy for me - but about right for you. Unless you can make do with a dust-pan and brush which would be even cheaper

I bought a lovely little cheap vacuum cleaner from Carrefoure almost 3 years ago for about 30e, and with all the dog hair and dust we have, it is a REAL trooper and has never let us down, at all, and man, does this thing SUCK, in the best possible way! Heartily recommended, bags always in stock in Carrefoure and you can’t beat the price. Enjoy.

Auchan have got an offer on for a limited period for a ‘Selecline’ hoover for 29.90 euros. I bought one a year ago and although efficient enough, the hose and the attachment broke within the year - HOWEVER they were plastic and the new one is with metal attachments so maybe worth a go…
ps If you do happen to buy one - I’ll send you my old hoover bags (12 - should last you the year)
